Big Apple India Retail Store Could Be Opened in 2017

Big Apple India retail is the dream of Cupertino-based giant. Local government doesn’t let the iPhone maker open its own retail stores in India even though iPhone is popular in this country. Now the regulators want the ‘fruit’ company to apply once again for the first retail store here.

Apple already applied for Apple retail store India however the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion also known as DIPP believes there were ‘gaps’ in that application. The Indian regulators ant to get more information on the company’s proposal.

According to reports, the idea of opening iPhone and iPad store in India is curious and can bring benefits to Apple however the initial proposal lacked information about the number of retail stores the copmany wants to open and the amount of investment planned.

Local laws make foreign companies pay around 30 percent of revenue to Indian government. This is what Apple really wishes to be made exempt from while it is still offering customers the ‘cutting-edge’ technology products.

Right now there is no Apple own stores in India because of the local laws. Still in 2015 the policy was relaxed and now single-brand retail companies can open their stores without pain. Apple hurried to submit its application and is now forced to fix all the ‘gaps’ in the document and re-apply.
