Right now Apple is testing the next iOS 9.3. This upcoming mobile platform should bring some interesting changes. For example, Apple is to unveil Night Shift mode that makes it easier to read on iPhone and iPad. The company is also offering Verizon WiFi calling iPhone support and finally the popular iOS 9 option will come to Verizon subscribers.
Developers and public beta testers are already exploring all iOS 9.3 beta features. iPhone Verizon WiFi calling is one of them. The third beta is pretty similar to the second beta yet it supports WiFi calling for Verizon network and fixes some bugs. Of course, the testing is not over yet. The Cupertino-based giant has a lot to do before the firmware becomes public.
iOS 9.3 WiFi calling Verizon launch will be a great addition to U.S. customers who are locked to this carrier [although some users preferred to SIM unlock Verizon iPhone 6 and 6s to enjoy the feature with other networks]. For example, AT&T and Sprint began supporting WiFi calls in fall 2015. T-Mobile was much faster as it started to offer WiFi calling on iPhone since June 2014.
Finally Verizon users will also be able to get a piece of pie and receive / make phone calls over WiFi when cellular signal is absent. This way you can stay in touch with your family and friends even when you are traveling to areas with poor mobile signal. No dropped calls, right?
Those users who are testing iOS 9.3 beta 3 and wish to turn on Verizon WiFi calling option can launch Settings – Phone and select WiFi Calling. You can toggle on the feature and click Enable to start testing this future option.
