AT&T Testing iPhone 5G Network

iPhone 5G network will soon be offered instead of the current fast 4G LTE. AT&T is already testing the upcoming technology. According to rumors, the 5G should be 10-100 times faster than AT&T 4G. The wireless industry is getting prepared for big changes.

AT&T 5G network testing is officially confirmed by the U.S. carrier. The Big Blue carrier announced that it would start its tests on the new wireless technology in 2016. The mobile operator promises to begin more precise lab tests later this year, most likely in Q2. The field tests are expected to start in the summer.

AT&T iPhone 5G Network News

The future AT T 5G network for iPhone should be spectacular [you can still SIM unlock your AT&T iPhone 6s or any other model if you wish]. Numerous rumors suggest the speeds could be increased up to 100 times if compared to current 4G network. Of course, the reality will be known once the network becomes public which would not happen in 2016. Still consumers are promised to get gigabits per second instead of current megabits. This sounds very exciting.

Other U.S. companies are also starting to test 5G technologies. Verizon Wireless has also confirmed that its tests are to start this year. T-Mobile and Sprint would probably also show their interest in 5G soon. AT&T could roll out the 5G in 2020 and Verizon promises to offer the service sometimes in 2018. Still iPhone users who live in Austin (Texas) could access the fixed points of 5G and give it a try as soon as this year.

AT&T LTE Problem or No iPhone App Downloads

A number of iPhone AT&T users have issues with Apple Music service. Some people cannot download applications. The AT&T LTE issues are reported by a lot of U.S. subscribers. It is interesting that the new Apple smartphones were released in the end of September and more and more customers are getting their hands on the new generation iDevice.

AT&T LTE problem is not common yet but some users do report issues. When some Americans are connecting to LTE network from AT&T they cannot download applications and Apple Music doesn’t stream. Some of the users also report about being throttled by the mobile network.

iPhone AT&T LTE Issues

It is interesting that the same iPhone owners assure that they have no issues with both Apple Music and app downloading when they are connected to WiFi network. There is also a report about iOS 9.0.1 update with VPN configurations and on this platform everything works just great.

The problems are reported with AT&T LTE connection only. At the same time the speed test shows no problems. Users note that the issues might be regional as they are not experienced by people from across the U.S.

It looks like the bug is related to AT&T iPhone carrier only. Users who are subscribed to T-Mobile and Verizon don’t suffer from any LTE issues. What models could be affected by the unknown AT&T issue? There are users with the iPhone 6s model which was released on September 25th who have this problem as well as older smartphone and tablet owners, including iPhone 4S and different iPad versions.

AT&T promises to release the fix. The company thinks that the bug is caused by iOS 9 and 9.0.1 upgrade so if you are using this carrier and are still running iOS 8 platform – you might want to wait with updating to the most recent version.

Still the statistics shows 97% of network covered by Verizon. Still this company is more expensive than others to use so you can buy the new iPhone from it only if you agree to pay more for reliable wireless service.

About AT&T 4G Coverage

The American mobile operator will spend the next 4 months rolling out its LTE to new markets. More and more customers will be able to connect to real LTE from the second biggest network in the U.S. by September. AT&T is behind Verizon giving coverage to about 300 million people.

New data speeds promised by the carrier should be up to ten times faster than 3G data speeds. This is great, isn’t it? As for today, AT&T 4G cities in the U.S. cover about 288 million people offering the fastest download speeds than other mobile providers.

We now wonder how many current AT&T consumers will switch to T-Mobile using factory unlock and enjoy any Sim card.

AT&T LTE Service Comes to Gainesville and New Counties

AT&T LTE coverage map has expanded to some of the new counties and this service is now available in Gainesville. If you live in Boise, Nassau, Denver or Suffolk and if you travel to these places you should know that they are included to the AT&T coverage area plan.

The well-known U.S. mobile operator has plans to expand its AT&T coverage map across USA and offer 4G LTE connection to as many customers as possible. This week the company made an announcement that its services are coming to more counties as LTE technology becomes available in Gainesville.

AT&T LTE covarage map

The carrier spends billions of dollars into its coverage map and right now over 280 million U.S. consumers can enjoy getting the 4th-gen Long-Term Evolution radio service in different cities and states across the country.

Boise was added to 4G coverage map in December. Since then LTE service has been expanded to Caldwell and Nampa, including Denver-metro area and Westminster. The two counties Suffolk and Nassau also offer AT&T LTE coverage in Long Island and western Nassau. The carrier provides its services and signal across the metropolitan area in New York.

The list of places that receive 4G LTE for iPhone and iPad is pretty large. You can find Seaford, Melville, Bellmore, East Meadow in it as well as Deer Park, Plainview, North Bay Shore and Wantagn. The service is extended along Wantagn Parkway, Route 110, Long Island Expressway and many other areas.

You’ll be able to connect to the carrier’s 4G in Hempstead Turnpike, West Islip, Farmingdale, Sunrise Highway, Copiague, etc. We can continue this AT&T LTE coverage map as it continues to get new names and the mobile operator will add new areas to it in 2013.

It is interesting that the carrier spend about $98 billion in the past 5 years. Besides, this public company’s investments into the economy of the USA are much bigger than the ones of other firms since 2008.

1GB of Data for Free: AT&T Roaming Deal Offer

The 4G LTE service from AT&T carrier is now offered for free to users who travel to the U.K. This AT&T roaming deal might sound exciting for iPhone owners who hope to get free data to be used while in the United Kingdom, still its taste is a bit sour. We’ll explain why inside this story. Also remember AT&T deal with Alltel but this is another story.

The company signed its AT&T roaming deal with provider The Cloud to offer customers 1GB of free data abroad. If you are planning to visit the UK you’ll be able to access any of 16 thousand + Wi-Fi spots across the country.

How to Get Your Free Data

What do you think about free roaming data offer? I think it could be a nice offer for those iPhone and iPad users who travel to the UK regularly. Of course, 1GB is not that much if you got used to checking emails, reading news and playing games online during your trip.

Those who wish to use this free data in the UK will have to subscribe to a data add-on. Also AT&T plans to expand in Europe. You can guess that this subscription is not free itself. The package costs some money. And this add-on leaves a sour taste. Don’t you agree?

To get this offer you have to download Wi-Fi International application from AT&T. It is free to get, and it is available in the App Store.

Your Benefits

In case you happen to go to the UK all the time on business trips, you might like to get the new feature from your U.S. carrier and enjoy the benefits of this new AT&T roaming deal. You’ll be able to make free Skype calls to your friends and family. You’ll be also able to download some files over 4G LTE network coverage.

AT&T travelers should get the free application and use their free 1GB of data whenever they can.
