While Samsung is believed to bring Apple 3D Touch iPhone 6s feature to its next year’s Galaxy S7 device – Apple is believed to focus on Micro LED displays. This is a new technology that could come to iPhones and other company’s devices in the future.
Experts think that Apple has a secret facility in Taiwan and this facility is working on Apple Micro LED displays for AT&T iPhones and other gadgets. What is Micro LED? All current iPhone models come with LCD screen. Unlike LCD, micro LED displays are thinner because they don’t required the dedicated backlight option. They offer better color gamut but have both advantages and disadvantages.
For example, micro LED displays require a complicated manufacturing process. This is the main problem when it comes to their mass production. Experts are sure that since Apple needs millions of displays for its extremely popular iPhones [you can unlock any iPhone 6s AT&T device] and other devices – it could be hard to meet the consumer demand with micro LED screens that need the TFT procedure.
The Taiwan facility has to find the way to produce millions of micro LED displays and once this task is accomplished – Apple will be ready to release the new iPhone with such a screen. Could it happen in 2016? It’s unlikely to be too soon.
The company would most likely start with iOS 9.2 iPhone OLED screens sometimes in 2017 or 2018. As for mini LED displays, Apple could unveil them for Apple Watch or other products in the future.
