The ‘fruit’ giant updated the information on February 8th. It noted that 77 percent of iPhones are now running iOS 9 platform version. This is a sign that the current firmware version is pretty popular among Apple customers. Of course, some users are still running iOS 8 and there is a small percentage of older models that have older firmwares installed on them.
Apple updated this data later in February but the 77 percent iOS 9 update information hasn’t changed. About 17 percent of users are still running iOS 8. iOS 9.3 launch is coming in March. Apple is also believed to unveil iPad Air 3 and iPhone 5se this spring along with Apple Watch 2 update. The new models would most likely arrive with iOS 9.3 pre-installed on them since iOS 10 would be a major update tested in the summer and released in the fall.
