iOS 9 Adoption Rate Reaches 77 Percent

Can you guess how many iPhones updated to iOS 9 by early 2016? The iOS 9 is a mobile firmware that was released by Apple in September 2015. It supports the iPhone 4s and newer models. The company presented several updates including iOS 9.0.1, 9.0.2, 9.1, 9.2 and 9.2.1. iOS 9 adoption rate has been reported. The ‘fruit’ giant updated the information on February 8th. It noted that 77 percent of iPhones are now running iOS 9 platform version. This is a sign that the current firmware version is pretty popular among Apple customers. Of course, some users are still running iOS 8 and there is a small percentage of older models that have older firmwares installed on them.

Apple updated this data later in February but the 77 percent iOS 9 update information hasn’t changed. About 17 percent of users are still running iOS 8. iOS 9.3 launch is coming in March. Apple is also believed to unveil iPad Air 3 and iPhone 5se this spring along with Apple Watch 2 update. The new models would most likely arrive with iOS 9.3 pre-installed on them since iOS 10 would be a major update tested in the summer and released in the fall.
